The only reason for the negative review is that you should buy his other book and not this one. The author has basically the SAME book titled "The Encyclopedia of Lost and Rejected Scriptures" which is newer, has added material and for the same price. If you compare the two side by side you will see it is word for word the same book. If your going to get this book get the newer book for the same price with the added chapters. Not a lot of extra material - but if your going to buy this book get the newer one for the same price.

Includes many books that are not in the Bible but may have been written around that period. I am reading them knowing they were not included for a reason, but still as interesting reading and knowing that some may have some historical value, others so I will know how to refute if others do take them as accurate and serious. Book came as it was advertised and in good shape.

Some of this author's books on these texts are decent.However, he muddies many of these texts down so far with comments in parentheses that it is literally impossible to read at times.One example is the Book of Judas. Lumpkin adds so many comments and items in parentheses (in an effort to help the ignorant reader understand better), that no one can keep up with the actual original text.5 stars for the effort1 star for corrupting the actual content2 stars overall

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS. It fills in all the missing blanks from the Bible. The texts we were supposed to have. Hidden for a millennium. No excuse not to read. Proven valid texts that blow your mind and blow away all excuses about the Bible not being real. Evidence and exciting read.

I bought the book to learn more about general background data contained in the Bible and was curious as to the content. Author details where the text is believed to originate, whether or not it is considered factual or just good reading. He also makes it better reading by paraphrasing some of the text and translates it into modern English to increase its readability.Each book detailed in the cover is also explained with an overview and insights into the meaning and context of these "Lost Books" before the actual translation.It is a great read for anyone wanting to learn about books that were never included in the Bible. It also details such things as Adam and Eve after they are driven out of the Garden of Eden and fleshes out many known Bible stories such as Moses and Abraham.

This book has everything in it that I needed for my research. Those were Books of Eli and Jasher, so the others were an added benefit. The introduction tells about each book and where it is referenced in the Holy Bible, except for the ones on Adam and Eve. This book was a surprise and explained how it came about, which is really based on Jewish 'folklore'. Penned around the 3rd century, AD, it gives one pause to take every word as total truth, but quite interesting. I am happy with this purchase.

Bought this for my boyfriend because he's really interested in the rejected books of the Bible, and he really loved it and was so excited when I gave it to him.

I set my bible aside to read this book.I gained so much more insight to the lives of Abraham, Noah and the ark, Enoch,; who wrote 366 books, Adam and Eve; how Satan continued to torment and try to kill them, God always intervening. I love this book and highly recommend it. Thank you Joseph B. Lumpkin for having the courage to compile and to the publishers for printing.

I have several avian medicine/surgery books but was looking forward to a book on poultry for veterinarians. Generally a good and overall helpful book BUT - and this is a huge BUT, leading to a failing grade - there is no formulary! Indeed there is often no dose mentioned at all even though a drug of choice might be mentioned. For example, I looked up capillariasis today and the book mentions fenbendazole as a possible treatment but nowhere is the dose mentioned. Other drugs I looked up - similar lack of dosage.There is an "abbreviated formulary" of fewer than 10 drug in reference to withdrawal times, which is nearly worthless.Extremely disappointing. I would not have purchased this book had I known.

I gave it a 3-star because it was recommended by my veterinarian, but when I got it there was way more info than I needed or understood (I am not a Dr). If you understood it all and needed that kind of info on chickens you would give it a 5-star. Didn't have just common information that I needed.

Good informatio but does not have suggested drugs or medications to use or doses.

Not as practical as I would have liked. Lacking treatment options/doses in many sections of the book. Prevalence and incidence of the various disorders vis à vis geographical distribution would have been appreciated.

This book has already been useful in practice. Concise and readable.

A much needed textbook! So happy this has come along right now. Lacks much formulary information but is pretty complete in other respects.I haven't spent too much time with this book yet so this is just an initial review.

Would recommend this to anyone with backyard pet chickens.
