I cannot figure out whether he fully believes this or whether he is being sensational for the purposes of his paying audience - probably some of both. Zagami is very intelligent and has compiled a massive amount of information. Histories and lists of people from the occult world abound in this book. So much so that it is often very difficult to read. Not because the reader is obtuse, but because reading it is like wading through piles of 3 x 5 cards at times. He needs the help of a heavy-handed and trusted editor (well-versed in the occult world) to make his book more readable. I haven't read his other books. Zagami is likable and there is factual information throughout his book that is interesting (and why I bought the book in the first place), but by including his life-long pursuit of the occult, and his desire to evangelize his readers into it, he muddies the whole. But maybe that's what he wants - to be so esoteric as to keep us uninitiated uninterested and the initiates inclusive?

Interesting stuff that Leo Zagami is so brave to be able to write about all this in his book, against this treacherous, well-masked as good yet dangerous world of power manipulation and heartless ruling of the world affairs.

This is the second book I bought--one for myself and one for a friend. I love the story of the northern Italian winters. I sent this to our family's child in Italy as a thank you for hosting us at Christmas time. The story and illustrations are just beautiful. I highly recommend this book! Another outstanding book by Tomie DePaola for my winter migration unit.

This is a somewhat unusual book because it may appeal to two age groups: Toddlers and Pre-Adolescents. The former will like the big colorful pictures and happy ending; the latter may appreciate the references to Italian culture and folklore. The plot and conclusion may be somewhat boring to children between these ages, and the very ill father may upset some toddlers. Still, very young children may enjoy the human-animal interaction and the happy denouement.A well-loved father becomes very sick; bird song seems to cheer him. Most of the birds leave as winter comes, save for one white one who continues to sing. This bird climbs up in a chimney stack to stay warm and keep the father's spirits up through his eventual recovery. Nicely illustrated, with big, "folkish" drawings effectively highlighting an Italian village.

After seeing a presentation Pedram Shojai gave at a conference, I had to look further into his work. His book did not disappoint! Dr. Shojai gives practical suggestions for finding and enhancing your inner vitality here and now in the real world, rather than having to travel to the far east and live as a monk for a few years (as he did). I truly appreciate that he advocates using your energy and vitality to make the world a better place.Dr. Shojai has online resources to augment the material in the book, too. I have found the guides, recipes, and videos very helpful in finding my "inner zen." I feel like I am truly on my way to becoming an Urban Monk, too, and I don't have to quit my day job to do it!

I have read the book twice now. After the first reading, I got a few practical tips on how to re-prioritize my life to accomplish the things that are truly important to me. But the real breakthroughs happened when I did the Qi Gong exercises he posted online in the resources. Once I did those daily, I noticed immediately that I was calmer and had less stress each day. After a month I had gone from having daily high anxiety to zero anxiety. I am not exaggerating. The people whose stories he describes in each chapter will be familiar to you because they are how virtually everyone lives their lives. Those people improved as well, by also doing the work Pedram gave them. Doing work is not popular advice, so if you are likely to read the book and move on without even attempting the exercises or the changes he suggests, you probably won't get much from it. But if you do the work, you will notice real improvements in your health life. If you think you don't have time to add these exercises to your busy life, the great news is Pedram gives you tons of practical advice to be more productive throughout your day. Once you make those changes, you will have 15 minutes daily for some Qi Gong.After reading the book the second time, I committed to trying even more of the exercises, and I realized there is significant wisdom in this book. Much more than was apparent the first time through. The exercises such as rooting energy down through the earth or heart meditation may seem simple, but they work wonders as well. Do not skip over those.Highly recommended.

I love this book. I wish I simply could get you to buy it and trust me on this instead of having to write a long review about all the simple, yet life changing things it has taught me. Since reading this book I have drastically cut down my coffee consumption and started drinking teas that I have never heard of before. I am much calmer and more focused when I drink the teas as compared to when I drink the coffees. I have started to do some weird exercises that you can watch on the internet by doing a search of the Urban Monk. I couldn't stop reading it. Even when I was tired I wanted to get to the end of the book so I could at least do the exercises. Everything in this book is easy to do and can change the way you feel. So if you want to improve your life and the life of everyone around you, I suggest buying this, doing the exercises, and buying extra copies for your friends.

This book is like Navy Seal training for everyday life. If you are looking for another "warm and fuzzy" hand holding self help book, you might want to skip this one. Pedram is blunt and obviously knows his stuff. Some argue that the information in this book is nothing new, I disagree, but even so it is sometimes the delivery method that hits home. I challenge you to not find anything in this book that you can not relate to, especially if there are things in your life that don't seem to be working. Get with the program, get off your ass, read the book, do the work...watch your life change, for the better.

This has become one of my go to books that I will read and reference over and over again for years to come. It is chockfull of Eastern practices and information all geared toward reducing stress and cultivating quiet and space in your life. I absolutely love it! It's a great intro to various Eastern practices, such as Qigong, Tai Chi, Yin Yoga. It inspired me to delve deeper into those subjects as well as more of the spiritual aspects of Yoga.

Gosh this was a really great book tying in so many practices that will enhance anyone's life. While many were already part of my routine, I found new ones, and validation of those I've already implemented. I think that anyone feeling overwhelmed, lost or simply wanting to try to connect a bit more will find the information in this book useful, easy to implement, and life-changing for the better. All encompasing as it touches on just about any aspect of life that we have all found ourselves wondering if we couldn't do it better, wish we could do it better, not know how to do it better... Just helpful, telling it like it is advice to kick it up a few notches.

The book is a reference guide to having an amazing life- so many great nuggets of information to absorb. I wrote in mine, took notes, circled ideas, and using it as my workbook for managing and better understanding of how to live balancing stress. The online Urban Monk Academy is life changing - gotta check it out. So relevant for everyone and anyone who wants to enrich their lives and those around them... This book will be a great gift for all of my closest friends and family. What a treasure this book is.

Highly recommend this book which has great advice for modern life to surmount obstacle for peaceful and healthy living. Each chapter starts with a real person whose life is messed up because of some unhealthy habit .He then proceeds with detailed discussion as to how we have damaged our health by deviating far from nature and how our ancestors lived. He then outlines steps to regain your health back by simple things which closely might mimic what our forefathers did. And then each chapter ends with solution for the particular person who was mentioned at start of chapter. So all chapters have this format discussing diet, sleep, exercise , being close to nature etc. A truly great book.

Your sleep medicine doctor probably has no clue that you have sleep apnea if you don't snore. Your sleep apnea doctor may understand that oral appliances can cause temporomandibular pain but I doubt your sleep apnea doctor fully understands that temporomandibular dysfunction even without an oral appliance can actually cause sleep apnea. There's a line in this book that I love after trying multiple medical interventions one of the subjects in this book discovered that the real drug they needed was oxygen .

I can't even describe how powerful of a learning tool this book is and ties everything airway disease related. From tongue ties , allergies and headgear this book has affirmed many suspect issues. I am halfway through and will post an update. I wish they had included a list or airway centric therapists as they are hard to find in this school of thought.

I am a dental hygienist and see signs of airway disordered breathing all of the time, but I never knew what to do with it. This book is awesome for the lay person or the health care provider. I am buying a few a gifts for close friends who need to read it. The dentist that I work for loved it so much that he is buying it for all of out office. (and he doesn't do things like that...)

I was looking for some ideas to solve some minor health problems by myself. From my perspective, the book was a total waste of time and money. (It got one star only because 0 stars is not available).This books presents how awesome is the american medical system (come to us and we will solve all your problems - no fee mentioned). This might be the case, but I was looking for ideas to help myself.

Everyone who snores, sleeps badly, can't breathe through their nose....or loves someone like that....should read this book. It is the dawn of a new era in dentistry and medicine.

Well written and easy to follow. Great explanation of a possible cause to many chronic health conditions; who would think sleep, or lack thereof, could cause so much trouble? Very eye-opening!

Excellent resource and delighted to see that the importance of nose breathing is included!!!

This book is phenomenal for identifying care and treatment for the person as a whole and some of the causation as to why and how airway issues can create a variety of health complications. Phenomenal quick read that really helps me approach each individuals' needs in a whole new light.

I was waiting to take the test to write my review. Here it goes:This book was an excellent source of material for the test. It even helps you to know and organize your studying schedule and where to sign up and pay for it online.A couple of the Science questions were the same as on the test.I only did 10 sets of questions at a time, then would check the answers, allowing me to absorb better the material, and improve on the next set of questions, especially in Math, my weakest of the four subjects.I am happy to report I passed my test and I an ready to petition.

I wish I had just bought this instead of wasting all the money I did buying other guides. I thought that the questions in the book were more challenging than the actual exam. Overall I found this to be a great test prep tool.

This book helped me so much while studying for the TEAS. The questions were just like the ones on the actual test and the book provides rationales for every answer. It even included multiple practice tests that were set up identically to the real thing. Definitely get this book if you’re preparing for this test.

The practice tests we very similar to actual test. Used this book and scored higher than I expected.

Buyer beware, the answer key is incorrect ! The McGraw Hill app has the same questions with the correct answers.
