Where Can I start.....Well I became a little upset when I found out that Pastors have been made aware of these books through seminary school, but tend to steer their members away from it.. The last time I checked I have to answer for myself before God not them!! So how I found out about this book was through a YouTube video Called "The forgotten books of the bible" I never knew that this used to be part of the original 1611 KJV Bible but later on it was removed, this blew my mind. As I began to read through the scriptures I realized more & more that it agree's with the Bible "The Wisdom of Jesus The son of Sirach" or Ecclesiasticus reads just like Proverbs. They sound so much alike that if one removed the titles of both books you wouldn't even know which book you were reading. I can go on & on about this book "Bel & the Dragon" sounded a little scary to me at first but it's about The Prophet Daniel steering the King away from False Idol worship. He also takes it a step further a proves to the King that they are false! We also learn in the book of 1 Maccabees about Hanukkah & how it came about, also we find the Lord attending Hanukkah in the Gospel of John 10::22 which is also called the "feast of dedication". I don't wanna ruin it for the reader & tell everything. All I can say is read it for yourself & you decide weather or not you should be reading it. Hosea 4:6 Says My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge because thou hast rejected knowledge, that thou shalt be no priest to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. We should stop rejecting God's knowledge.

Just received this today. Good Quality book but the only think I don't like is that the print is very small so I should have listened to one of the other reviewers when they said that the print was so small that they could not read it. I am able to read it but it would be much more comfortable to read if the print was at least twice as large as what they have used.

The Bible is Amazing! A Must Have to increase your knowledge faith and Joy! Excellent for researching!

This is our first introduction to Poppleton. My son and I both love him. There are three short stories in this book (Neighbors, The Library, and The Pill). They are all very entertaining. We especially love "Neighbors" where Poppleton cannot control himself and sprays his neighbor with the hose. The picture in this scene is hilarious and actually makes both of us laugh out loud. My five year old son has requested more of these books, which is about the highest praise you can get from a reader. I would highly recommend this book due to the nice bed time length of the stories, the lovely illustrations, and the comical life of the pig named Poppleton. Happy reading!!

Read this book as a kid and loved it. Just had to have it for my daughter :) it was in great condition and was a great trip down memory lane.

Nice introductory book to the pig, Poppleton, and his friend, Cherry Sue. Easy, funny, sort stories for the beginning readers and to be read to toddlers. Nice illustrations in the three short stories, Neighbors, The Library, and The Pill. My young grandchildren love these books.

It's not a bad book, but after reading it I am still trying to figure out things which were left out from the example application.For example, how do you translate the tooltip error message when the email address is invalid? The Tic-Tac-Toe app from the book is still showing "You must enter a valid email address." when the selected language is set to French.Also I would have like to see a section about best practices - for example, how to reuse the code of the language drop down across multiple pages, and avoid duplication of code?This book attempts to cover a lot of ground, but feels a bit rushed, and not easy to read or follow when pages of source code are shown without any explanations.The chapter about "Securing applications" however was good, and by itself made it worth buying.

This shows many different aspects of developing a Web Application. I always find new features/techniques when looking at different books like this.

I bought this book about two months ago, and was disappointed that its format doesn't really describe the unique features of .net core 2.0 versus 1.0. Many new features have very little content devoted to them; for example view components have perhaps two paragraphs devoted to them. Others are skipped entirely; the book goes into great detail as to how to deploy to Azure, AWS, and other cloud-based environments, but only mentions that one could deploy to an IIS server. Not one sentence as to how to do that!The book only uses an example tic-tac-toe application for every code sample, instead of other more practical applications or multiple small applications. I found that this book could not improve on any of the free support information available on MSDN websites.

The book is an excellent introduction to ASP.Net core V2.0It leads the reader to understand all basic (and some advanced) aspects of this technology that allows writing quickly web applications and is much simpler than the standard .NET framework.

Disclosure: I was a technical reviewer of this book and worked with Packt to provide feedback on the code and technical aspects of the text.I have reviewed several books this year centering around .NET Core. I can honestly say that I felt this book was the most engaging read of them all. The authors do a very good job of writing in a way that makes the reader feel as if they are part of a conversation about ASP.NET Core. Each topic is introduced in a fun and interactive manner. Throughout the course of the book, you'll learn to build a Tic-Tac-Toe game with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core. It is much easier to read this book cover-to-cover than the average programming reference book.I would recommend this book to any developer who wants to get up and running with ASP.NET Core 2.0. Whether you have a background in ASP.NET or not, you will learn everything you need here. You'll get everything you need to either build a simple website or start your next large-scale projects at work. Enterprises need to think about security, scalability, and deployment concerns. All of these topics are covered in depth in the latter half of Learning ASP.NET Core 2.0. Other topics covered are MVC (the Model-View-Controller pattern), Web API, hosting and monitoring.

Ever get that sinking feeling, as you peruse your new book, like you've been ripped off? Such a book is this.Sure, i did wonder why a book on ASP.NET Core 2.0 would have a whole chapter on "Creating a continuous integration pipeline in VSTS", but since i can't find any other good books on Core 2.0 I kidded myself all would be well. Now i know why... to pad out 30 pages of drivel interspersed with copious quantities on screen shots.The clock ticks the precious hours of my evening, as I doggedly persist trying to glean some value from my reckless purchase.On to Chapter 4 where "The basic concepts of ASP.NET Core 2.0" are to be revealed at last. Surely this is the meat in this sandwich, now things will start to click! Alas no, the screen shots keep coming, the digressions into unrelated topics. Soon I'm nearly 200 pages into this book and i realize...i have learned...NOTHING!Is it a joke?Disbelief gives way to despair...This book is garbage, and i mean with zero redeeming features.It is my sincere hope that by writing this review i can spare others the wasted time, money and misery that has been inflicted upon myself.

The point of this book is that it does not just cover ASP.NET Core 2.0 framework but it also provides insight into how to manage the life cycle of an application in a Microsoft environment. The implementation of a continuous integration pipeline is thus described step by step and will allow you to start efficiently with VSTS and Visual Studio.I appreciated how the authors began by describing the framework's concepts and its history to end up with a functional application addressing many ASP.NET Core features that serves as a guide throughout the book.

Really good exposition and polemic.

Townes' major work, while fairly thin, is one of the most penetrating and leaned ethics texts I've come across. A concrete work drawing deeply from numerous disciplines, bringing many perspectives into dialog to scrutinize persisting cultural perversions that dehumanize and hamper justice. Perhaps the preeminent Womanist today, here she offers a shrewd exploration and analysis of the interior life of evil, its cultural fashioning and function here in US society and globally.

I purchased this book for an Ethics course. It was indeed thought-provoking and sparked quite a bit of interest in further exploring pervasive cultural evils in today's society.

There are few intellectuals who can combine such a thorough and rigorous academic critique with an accessible writing style and a deep well of empathy the way Emilie M. Townes does here. I read this text as a graduate student and recommend it to anyone seeking an understanding about what evil is and how it functions, particularly with regards to racism and misogyny. All of Townes' writing in the field of womanist ethics is tremendous but this title stands out especially for its seamless integration of myth, history, and what we believe to be memory and truth.

I was forced to read this book in grad school at the University of Virginia. While Dr. Townes' excellent writing style and mastery of the English language makes reading her work effortless, her arguments are hardly based on any sort of scholastic standards of substantiation. A master of emotional hyperbole, her axioms are presumptuous and result in preponderance of gratuitous arguments. She rages against what she calls the "fantastic hegemonic imagination" (an imagined hegemony of white men that make cultural war on black women by creating stereotypes, reputations that can't possibly be the responsibility of black women), yet somehow the irony is lost on her; that she, herself, by virtue of the fact that she is the dean of Vanderbilt's Divinity School, has her own hegemonic endowment and quite obviously, her own "fantastic hegemonic imagination."Not far into the book, the reader discovers what a fantastic imagination she truly has as she tries to convince us, with very little argument, that the fat black woman pictured on Aunt Jemima pancake mix is actually the attempt of white men to assuage their collective guilt over an antebellum campaign of miscegenation that, if done at the statistical rate she suggests, would have wiped out the entire African race on the American continent. Yet, she argues this is why a fat, sexually undesirable black woman is on Aunt Jemima pancake mix. And to think, all these years I thought it was just because fat black women had a reputation of being very good cooks. She never really explains how a young, sexy black woman on a pancake mix box would have sold more pancake mix, and this isn't the only argument she leaves unexplained. No, as a member of the American Academic Hegemony, we are all supposed to refrain from asking any questions and let the elitist academic hegemony tell us how to think.Indeed, she assumes a lot in this book, not the least of which is an audience that is so enthralled with her brilliance that we will all magically see the naked emperor's new clothes. The above example is just one of her assumptions that racism and feminism are the exclusive responsibility of white men and therefore the responsibility of white men to heal. Black women bear no responsibility for anything, including stereotypical collective reputation in culture, and the white male "fantastic hegemonic imagination" is the root of all evil. This is all explained in a completely gratuitous manner with no supporting argument whatsoever. However, supporting argument is unnecessary for her. After all, she is a black female hegemonic elitist and therefore we all must listen.The axioms, arguments, and conclusions in this book are laughable. This book would be better off in a graduate program for psychoanalysts to discover how a seemingly educated person could come to such ridiculous conclusions. Had I written the exact same words it would have never been published. When we critiqued this book in class and I made my comments, everyone looked at me like I was an alien and quickly moved on to celebrate this pseudo-academic work of shoddy scholarship that would receive an F for lack of substantiating argument in my undergraduate course in composition. I'd like my four hours back and a refund for my kindle version, please.

Incredibly helpful and insightful book by Emilie Townes that explores concepts of the cultural production of evil, specifically as pertains to race. I read this book for a course I took on Womanist theology, and it was very beneficial.
