I'm a 42-year-old, self-employed single guy who has always dreamed of owning and living full-time in an RV. I've always pictured it as something I'd do in the distant future (retirement, etc.), but lately I've been thinking, why put off until tomorrow what I can do today?I purchased this book as one of my first steps in turning this dream into a reality, and it turned out to be just the kind of helpful, practical, and inspiring beginner's guide that I'd hoped it would be. The writing style is simple and conversational, almost like you're texting back and forth with a good friend. This makes it a very quick and easy read that is also packed full with lots of substantive information and fun, useful tips.I would have liked a more detailed, step-by-step guide to filling and emptying the RV's water and waste tanks, hooking everything up at RV parks, etc. But otherwise this was a very entertaining and educational read that will no doubt continue to serve as a handy guide for many months and years to come.

I am going into RVing full time with little to no knowledge on the subject but am feeling almost completely prepared after having read this book. She really covers all the bases with this one, it's so worth the money even if you're just curious about the lifestyle. Informational books are pretty difficult for me to get through usually but this one presents the information in an entertaining way, read the whole thing in less than two weeks.

I'm not really a beginner. I've been buying and living in camping trailers for about 40 years. Pop-ups, truck campers, trailers, and -- for the last 15 or so -- motorhomes. I spend time on forums trying to help people with questions, but will now just send them a link to Alyssa's book. She's managed to cover just about every single major question I get asked. (And yes, "How do you get your mail?" is #1.) I usually tell people mail is brought to my rig by squirrels, and walk quietly away. We live in a 35' motorhome full time, and work as camp hosts -- so we're always getting questions about the life.It's really neat to see someone addressing the constant questions and standing up to say "This is the answer." Most books like this just list off a series of possibilities, and confuse the reader even more. I like that it is written with spirit and a youthful flair -- seeing "smh" in the first few pages told me that this wasn't going to be a dry and boring read. I'd recommend this book for both newbies and us oldbies -- there's lots here I didn't know, and several things that gave me a new perspective. Very nice job for a first outing.

I have to admit that while we were contemplating making the leap to full-time RV life, I spent most of my time saving RV pins on Pinterest or mooning over fabulous Instagram photos, leaving my husband to deal with most of the actual research.If this book had come out a year ago, I might've quit dreaming and started learning. Still, it's valuable insight I'm glad the author shared. We did get an RV, but haven't yet graduated to full-time life (soon, though!!!). I learned a lot from the book, and it was an enjoyable read.Unlike most of the RV books hubby bought :DThe author is knowledgeable, experienced, sassy, opinionated and at times pretty damn funny. This makes what might otherwise be a fairly mundane topic a pleasure to read.I dinged my rating by a star because of minor editing lapses near the end, and because she presents a few of her preferences as fact rather than a choice based on ones circumstances. But it's such a great guide for newbs like me that I wish Amazon would let me give it 4.5 stars.

I LOVE Alyssa Padgett's comprehensive and entertaining way of explaining all the variables of RV life. She's really knowledgeable about everything from purchasing an RV, maintenance, and even community on the road. She's funny too! This isn't just a dry read of facts; she's a great story teller and captures your imagination of what's possible living in an RV, touring the country, and embracing adventure!

Hard to believe the writer is an architect. Terrible, bad designs. A waste of money.

She says, "You can easily shape, stamp, cut, dye, paint, and sew it into anything, which is especially good for crafting."She notes that templates are included in the book so that the reader will easily be able to jump right in.She finishes the introduction by saying, "Whether you are a beginner or advanced, I hope to introduce methods that will spark your creativity and take your jewelry making to the next level."Which is exactly what she does!In the "basics" section she discusses tools, techniques, materials, and even the inspiration the reader might need. Delightfully, the author then adds that "the key is to have fun and let your creativity take over."Colored, dyed cowhide in different weights is one thing the reader will be looking for. If you are Vegan, choose to go for Vegan options, which are available. Another material which is mentioned and which will make an appearance in this book is feathers (there is a fantastic bead, leather and feather necklace to look forward to, for example).Some of the tools which jewelry designers may or may not already have are: a rotary hole punch, a cutting mat, cutting knives and leather glue. These are gorgeously colored leather earrings, cut out by hand, with three shapes per earring, each attached with jump rings. Really easy, really hip, and really pretty.Project number two is one of my absolute favorites. It is very similar to the first project however small embellishments of hand cut out leather are added to the bottom. These are perfect: bold yet beautiful!Following this comes a tutorial on how to make leather tassel earrings, and after that the reader will be introduced to the "Geometric Fringe Leather Earrings". These have so much going for them, they are ballistic. The description says, "Combine a fun fringed look with geometric cutout elements. Use the tassel technique and cut out a geometric lattice to hang in front of the fringe." The colors of the leather, combined with the great shapes, make these fascinating and fabulous!The reader will see this sort of inventiveness continue on throughout the book. The leathers used in each project will be offered in numerous color choices, such as orange, hot pink and turquoise, purple, yellow and lime green, and turquoise, indigo and orange, all for the same project. I am not writing this to sound smarmy, but just to let the reader know that while this is a story of a trial and the tensions arising therefrom, the reader should not expect anything resembling Ann Rule or even Truman Capote. [This mis-expectation, I think, accounts for several of the negative reviews.]This is a autobiographical recount of D. Graham Burnett's jury duty on a murder trial. Burnett's rationle for recounting the trial is to give us a view of the machinations of the jury trial and, in so doing, reflect on such things as the difference between law and justice, and the ways in which we try to ascertain the truth of a matter when all we have are disjointed facts and clues.The trial is that of Monte Virginia Millcray, who is charged with stabbing Randolph Cuffee about 20 times. Millcray says the stabbings were in self-defense, after Cuffee (posing as a woman) tried to rape Millcray. The prosecutions account is that Millcray and Cuffee were in a relationship and Millcray snapped.About half of the book is about the courtroom drama and half is about the lengthy (20+ hour) deliberation process and it is clear that the author places much more emphasis on the latter half of the book. Witnesses are gone through rather quickly, summarized as might be done by a story teller quickly laying the obligatory groundwork for the "real" story. By contrast, Burnett's recounting of the jury deliberation is quite lengthy and detailed.To this reader's mind, Burnett really does a good job with describing the jury deliberations and for those of us who've done jury duty before, much of his retelling will seem familiar. Tempers flare, opinions clash and fluctuate. Evidence is combed over again and again, in hopes that each time will reveal something missed the time before.Burnett also reflects on the jury process. Some of his reflections - the mismatch between law and justice - are rather pedestrian and hackneyed. (I confess that I was sometimes annoyed that some of Burnett's more pedestrian reflections were sometimes treated as if he were the first to have thought of them.) Others - jury sequestration as an example of the virtually unlimited power of the state - were quite interesting. Either way, Burnett's retelling of the jury deliberation is as much recount as it is reflection. (If that would bore you, you might get bored with this book.)"Trial by Jury" is not for everyone. As noted, it is not a "true crime" novel, and is not a page-turner. I don't think that was D. Graham Burnett's goal in writing the book. Rather, it is a sometimes entertaining and other-times thought-provoking examination of one man's experience with, and reflections on, a jury trial as a way to try and mete out imperfect justice in an imperfect world.

The idea for this book was certainly a good one. Given how the whole jury system plays such a central role in our judicial system, it is rather surprising that there is so little material on what actually goes in inside the jury room. As Burnett rightly points out, it is a "largely inaccessible space in our society." Thus the book is certainly a step towards filling that void. That said, I found it somewhat unsatisfying for several reasons, some of them within the author's control and some of them not. In various other reviews here, the author has been described variously as "pretentious" (on several occasions), "pompous", "snobbish", "holier-than thou", "smug", and "self-congratulatory". Anyone see a theme here? I don't really disagree with any of these and I would add pedantic, condescending and superior. It really comes through on almost every page. And yet, I have to say that with the possible exception of Adelle, no one else in that jury room seemed like a candidate for MENSA. In fact, a number of them, such as Felipe and Rachel, seemed like true idiots. The overall lack of intelligence of so many jury members had several unfortunate consequences. First, with just a few exceptions, including some comments by Adelle and Dean, it made the deliberations (which take up half of the book) much less interesting than they otherwise might have been. Second, whatever sense of pedantry and superiority which is probably naturally latent in the author anyway were probably brought to the fore when he saw who he was dealing with. Also, again though no fault of the author's, I simply didn't find the case he had to work with all that riveting. A man was lured to or went voluntarily to the apartment of some sort of man/woman/transvestite/cross-dresser/drag queen and either did or did not kill the latter in self-defense when the latter made sexual advances. All in all, it was not a bad book by any means, but I don't think that it was the book it could have been either.

It is easy to pick on people that are less educated than you, and, if you are very well educated like this author, to do it in a way that seems less than mean spirited, however real people are difficult to understand and this is what the book unfortunately missed. The author approaches his subject "critically" rather than with curiosity. Because of his intelligance, his education, his experiance, etc., he obviously feels that he "knows" what he is talking about. And, about many things, some of which are in this flawed book, this is true. But, he could have learned many things and this is the problem with the book. While as a trial lawyer I found the book useful, I would hesitate to say that I also found it to be good.

Many of us can think the thoughts, but few of us can put into words the experience of sitting on a jury and interacting with our fellow man in order to attain a "just" verdict. D. Graham Burnett has taken this mandatory life experience and shed a new light on it and now shares it with the world. Having been associated with the legal process, as a court reporter, for 30 years, and having, for the most part, taken it for granted, it was very refreshing for me to see, through his eyes, its shortcomings and its strengths. He asks tough questions. What is the law? What is a just verdict? How powerful is the state? Do we need protection from it? And, he demonstrates just how the jury process can and does work, even with all of the personalities, the loss of patience, the bickering of strong-willed people, and how even the quiet and withdrawn have something to say: eventually. Well worth your time.

G&S shows are awesome. I love the local group I perform with, and this arrived quickly and is what I needed.Kind of wish it was available spiral bound, but for the price, great.

After receiving an MD from University of Athens, he came to the Arthritis Branch in 1979 where he trained in immunology and rheumatology. Between 1987 and 2007 he was a member of the Uniformed Services/Walter Reed community where served in various positions including Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine and Chief of the Department of Cell Injury. In 2007 he joined the Beth Israel Medical Center as Chief of Rheumatology and Harvard Medical School as Professor of Medicine. He has served various leadership positions including President of the Clinical Immunology Society. He has served as chair of the Hypersensitivity, Autoimmunity, and Immune Mediated Diseases Study Section of the National Institutes of Health, Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Immunology, the official journal of FOCIS, and editor of Autoimmunity and Discovery Medicine, PLoS One and other journals. He has been elected to the Association of American Physicians, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences and Master of the American College of Physicians (MACP). He is the 2012 Lee C. Howley Jr. Arthritis Research Prize from the Arthritis Foundation and a MERIT award holder from NIH. Dr. Tsokos’ research focuses on the cellular and molecular pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). His laboratory has opened and led the field of molecular abnormalities on immune cells in patients with SLE. He directs a T32-sponsored fellowship on systemic autoimmunity and a Clinical Rheumatology Fellowship. Dr. Tsokos has trained over 110 colleagues many of whom hold senior leadership positions and run independent laboratories. His research is funded through NIH and DoD grants.

My husband loves word search puzzles; so, was very excited when I found this VERY large one. I thought this would keep him more than busy for a while. To be honest, am disappointed because many of the words are very strange, unfamiliar, and not typically heard/used in the U.S.A.He’s not finding doing these as anjoyable as others we’ve previously purchased. My recommendation would be to buy some others rather than this one.

Bought this for my brother. He has poor vision but loves doing word search puzzles. He's going to love the size of these puzzles!! I didn't realize how heavy it would be. My brother also had a stroke a few years ago & can only use one of his arms. He'll love the puzzles, but it will be difficult for him to carry.

My mother loves this book. Large print is key!

I bought this for my grandma. She's 89 with health problems. After fussing about how she did not need books with large print, she concluded that maybe the nice large print wasn't so bad. She certainly liked that there were 500 puzzles in one book. Hopefully, it will keep her busy for a while. :) Gotta love grandma!

I purchased this for my mother-in-law. She loves it. The print is large enough for her to read and the puzzles are challenging enough to keep her involved. Well worth the cost. Thank you

This book has it all if you like word search puzzles in large print. Unlike other books this book has 500 puzzles which will take some time to finish. Husband really likes the large print feature. Not a strain on his eyes. Very nice quality book and fun puzzles. Worth purchasing.

I finished this book and I'm working on the 1000 word. The print isn't really that small either. Love word searches and the number searches too.

The large print and various difficulty of puzzles kept us alert. When one partner needed to be relieved puzzle became more.Two against one.
