I was looking for a wedding planning book that would help me save money without sacrificing the style of my special day. This book, and the reviews, made it seem like this would be the book for me. Sadly when I received it I found that all (and I mean ALL) the information and tips in the books were things I had already done or just plain common sense. I guess I might be type A in that sense. For example, she mentions that you should "comparison shop", and for me that was a no brainer. This book didn't present me with any new information that I hadn't already thought of. I ultimately returned this book because I didn't find it useful.That said, if you're not a planner like me (I had my wedding planning binder put together within 4 days of getting engaged) this book could offer some useful tips and tools for you. If you're looking for interesting ways to make your wedding your own without breaking the bank I would suggest "Your Wedding Your Way" by Sharon Naylor. It walks you through do's and don'ts of planning your day your way and how to communicate that to your parents and vendors while also saving money and time.
This is the perfect DIY wedding planning book.It provides examples and different methods to make the planning stress free. It ensures that you are able to budget without feeling overwhelmed. It also recommends different ways to save on your wedding. With the average cost of weddings being $35K, this is the perfect book to read and implement the information into your own planning.
